It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. The Christmas Bird Count, that is…which you can learn all about in the Five in a Row December Mini Unit based on the book Bird Count. A young girl takes part in a scientific team effort as a citizen scientist during the Christmas Bird Count. She loves using her most important scientist’s tools—her eyes and ears—to watch and listen for all the different bird species she encounters on her important day of counting.
