Default Lord's Prayer resources for kids?

Do any of you know of any resources for teaching kids and/or using devotions to go along with the Lord's Prayer?

My kids have learned the prayer by memory...but now we are learning it in Latin, one line at a time.

I would like to take the period of Lent and focus on this prayer with my kids. I would like to talk about what each line means with them, maybe have a little devotion or something to go with each part??

Does anything like this exist that you are aware of and can recommend?

Thanks!

Some of the best devotions we have done are simply from my heart. We haven't done the Lord's Prayer yet, but we did do the good ol' Doxology. I prayed about what to say before I taught them the words. We not only learned to sing it three different ways (who knew there are so many tunes that fit the doxology? ), I also taught them to sign it. It's really neat to hear them sing it out in church because they really understand it's meaning.

I have no resources to help you, I just think you are doing a great job!

Thanks, Melinda. I do try to share from my heart...but I'm also pretty weak "on the fly" not one of my gifts. So I at least would like to try and find some type of guide.

I found this on amazon...anyone familiar with it?

I want to say Debbie in Alaska has used some books in this series and likes them...from looking at the samples it looks like my girls would benefit from it. I would like to try and do it together, probably mostly orally...

Candace, here is a link to the Westminster Catechism for Children. Start at Q. 105 for the questions and answers on prayer and the Lord's Prayer.

This is a link to the Westminster Shorter Catechism. Start with Q. 98 on this one.

I don't know if you're familiar with this catechism, but it's been used for hundreds of years to teach the basics of the Christian faith to children and adults. Long ago, the Shorter Catechism was used for children. Now it's often used by adults, and there is an even simpler form for children. Even if you don't have your dc memorize the answers, you can use them as a jumping-off point for discussion.

Here's another option to check out....

http://dltk-bible.com/cv/lords_prayer.htm

We had a VBS a few years ago that was based on the Lord's Prayer, but that won't help right now.... :\

Blessings~

Thanks for these links Ladies, I have been wanting to teach my kids the Lord's Prayer and wanted some resources to help me teach them in a way that they would understand it.

We use this book. It is through the LCMS church, so it might not line up completely with your church's beliefs...mainly the chapters on Baptism and Communion...we have close communion and infant baptism. It also covers the Lord's Prayer, Apostles Creed, and the 10 Commandments and does a fantastic job for elementary ages.
